Joseph Iannazzone built the QRV app as a free app with in-app purchases. This service is provided by Joseph Iannazzone at no cost and is intended for use as is. This page informs visitors regarding my policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information for anyone who uses my service.
Free features — band conditions, band plans, references, calculators, and callsign lookups — fetch data directly from your device: PSK Reporter, HamQSL, QRZ, HamQTH, POTA, and SOTA, or your own self-hosted Wavelog logbook. Your QRZ and Wavelog credentials are stored in your device's Keychain and sent directly to those services — they never pass through QRV's servers.
Premium notification features (live spots, and band, DXCC, callsign, DXpedition, and lightning alerts) require QRV's servers to store some data so they can deliver push notifications to your device:
This data is kept only as long as it's useful: devices that go unused and hold no active alert configuration are automatically removed from our servers after 180 days.
iCloud sync of your app settings and preferences happens entirely within your own iCloud account, through Apple's infrastructure. QRV's servers never see this data.
What QRV doesn't do: QRV has no analytics or crash-reporting tools, no advertising, and no third-party tracking, and I don't sell or share your data. Purchases are handled directly by Apple's StoreKit — QRV never sees your payment information. IP addresses are used transiently to rate-limit API abuse and aren't stored in our database; server logs are capped and roll off automatically rather than being retained long-term.
If you delete the app, your locally stored data is deleted in the manner dictated by your device. If you purchase QRV Premium, data indicating your purchase status is written to your device's local storage. If you restore a purchase, your device contacts Apple's servers to authenticate the previous transaction.
